Clinic PCT - Campbell Clinic
Medical Assistant-Patient Care Tech
Reports to: Director of Rural Health Clinic
Classification: Non-Exempt--PCT

JOB SUMMARY:

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is an essential part of Parker County Hospital District’s Rural Health Clinic. The PCT is responsible to the Clinic Director and its clients for providing patient care and other related technical and clinical support activities as directed by the Medical Director. The position requires daily contact with patients, vendors, clinic staff, insurance carriers and administrative staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Work together with Medical Director, lab tech and all PCHD staff to ensure patient’s needs are being met in a friendly, courteous, professional and efficient manner
• Assist the provider with patient procedures
• Perform daily, weekly and monthly duties as assigned
• Perform training and student preceptor duties as assigned
• Participate in the annual RHC evaluation process, as needed
• Provide monthly reports as requested by Clinic Director
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations
• Perform functions that are in the scope of practice of the certification held and protocols given
• Perform lab procedures according to clinic protocol
• Perform medication procedures according to clinic protocols
• Maintain accurate and complete patient documentation in clinic EMR
• Perform patient procedures according to clinic protocol
• Maintain par level of supplies in assigned exam rooms
• Enter information into regulatory data bases as required


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Must possess excellent organizational skills
Should be self-motivated
Strong command of the English language both written and oral
Ability to deal professionally, courteously, and efficiently with the public
Must be dependable and able to remain calm under stress
Maintain confidentiality as required for all patient (HIPAA), District and employee information
Should possess knowledge of medical terminology
Must maintain a good working relationship with clinic staff
Exhibit high ethical and professional standards
Must be able to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
Appropriate understanding of computer office hardware (i.e. PCs, tablets, laptops, 10-key) and software (i.e. Microsoft Office, EMR, email, internet)

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

No experience required
Current Certified Medical Assistant certification
One (1) year clinical experience, preferred
